About Mr. Meyer
I am a very proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame - here's ND's web site - and have a graduate theology degree from The University of Divinity in Melbourne, Australia. In May, 2019, I received my master's degree in Catholic School Leadership from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. The 2020-2021 school year will be my twelfth year at San Miguel.
My wife is the Director of College Counseling and AP Spanish teacher at St. Augustine High School - she began there after teaching twenty-one years at Archbishop O'Hara High School, the (now closed) Lasallian high school in Kansas City, Missouri. I also taught there before coming to Tucson. My son (an O'Hara grad) has a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in education from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, the Lasallian university in Winona, Minnesota. He is San Miguel's US History teacher and is the Mass Choir director and guitarist.
I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and am a serious fan of the White Sox (the Eloy Jimenez photo below is (c) Chicago Tribune), Bears, and Blackhawks. I also love Australian Rules Football (AFL), and my team is the Melbourne Demons. While I grew up in the Chicago area, most of my family is from southern Wisconsin, and I am mostly of Dutch descent. My maternal grandparents immigrated here from Wapenveld and Groningen in the Netherlands in 1910.
Live, Jesus, in our hearts forever!
